Infants of Dunwoody is proactive in supporting each and every child’s overall development. As a team of professionals, we are committed to working closely with you to ensure that your child is provided every opportunity to be successful. As additional support for staff and families, we offer the following services.
Developmental Consultant
Dr. Ginevra Boyes, Ph.D. is an Early Childhood Behavioral and Developmental Consultant and creator of the Touchstone Emergent Abilities Inventory for assessing children from birth to three. Dr. Boyes has extensive experience working with children along a broad spectrum of development—from delay to gifted and talented. Dr. Boyes meets with teachers, observes in classrooms, maintains written assessments and assists teachers with individual development plans for every child. Parent conferences may be scheduled periodically to discuss your child's development and any concerns you or the school may have.
Therapy Services
At this age, early intervention can make all the difference. Having a trained eye to identify early signs of delay allows our staff to address the issues immediately and in most cases eliminate them all together. Occasionally, a child will need additional help and after a thorough assessment, therapy may be recommended. Infants of Dunwoody & Dunwoody Academy's in-house therapy services are truly unique. Our thirteen year partnership with Children's Special Services, LLC. gives us access to therapists addressing a wide range of therapeutic disciplines. This provides children with a consistency of treatment. Therapists collaborate with our staff regularly to enhance the effectiveness of all services. Parents know they have a “one stop shop” to address all of their child’s needs, as they arise, from speech therapy to physical, occupational, and developmental therapies.
Inclusive Programs
At Infants of Dunwoody, we look at a child’s development from a holistic viewpoint. Together with Dr. Boyes and Children's Special Services, we create individualized plans and schedule therapy, if needed, to meet the unique needs of each child and their family. Because of our small group sizes, low ratios and developmental approach, we are able to offer an inclusive birth to three program for children with developmental delays as well as those who require a more challenging environment. We have also added an inclusive, modified preschool to our Dunwoody Academy program to meet the developmental needs of preschool children.
